When I was eleven or twelve years old, my friends took me to see Hank Williams Jr. and the Kentucky Headhunters play in Evansville, In. This was around 1989 or 1990 or thereabouts. The Headhunters came out first, and brother, they put on A SHOW! If I look around long enough, I might still be able to find the dollar bills with the band members faces that they threw out at the concert. It may have been a country act, but as far as I was concerned, the Headhunters were a rock band, and a rockin' band, at that. There sense of humor was influential, as well as the sense that even if you lived in Bum@@##, Kentucky, you could still make it out and see the world. My music doesn't sound a lick like them, but thanks to all the Headhunters for the inspiration.

Got recomended the 'Songs from ....' album, got it, love it, toured Germany with my band listenin' to it the last couple of weeks, and nearly got in some trouble with the Politzei (ask Doug - mailed him with the story). Anyway, great album. I have a great story about how the word came to me, strange, but then we know how He works sometimes. Too long for here so I'll mail it.

We've followed your group for years and love your style and abilities. Grass String Ranch is fantastic. My favs are the title and end cut and "Too Much To Lose" (which is why I bought the CD)--those CMT videos do make a difference! I have been a huge fan of the Headhunters since 1989.I have all the cd's, fan club info,etc, all because i think you guys rock. I am such a big fan that back in 92', i had a tattoo of the 'Pickin on Nashville' album cover done on my left shoulder, which i proudly display to this day.Also, please tell Fred for me that i think he is an awesome drummer, and has been a major influence in the past and present. Greg, Your site is great! I'm a new fan of the Headhunters. I've spent the past 6 years running a local fan club for Metallica in North and South Carolina, and listening solely to metal. You guys brought Mr. Jessico into my life approximately 6 weeks ago, courtesy of my employer. Since my introduction to the Headhunters, I've acquired 4 albums, and 1 out of print video, thanks to the internet. I had basically stopped listening to music, except at work. I find that your music brings joy into my life again. I've never been exposed to such eclectic offerings from one band! Most bands perform within their genre... the Headhunters know NO boundaries. I call it FOGGY MOUNTAIN METAL. I'll continue my search to expand my collection of Headhunters material and becoming an even bigger fan. I can't wait to see you guys live!! I just want to say that you're awesome. I first saw the KHH when you toured with Billy Ray years ago. I've been a huge fan every since. I even have the Bride cd that you made an appearance on. I've been keeping up with Richards condition through your site and the Headhunters site as well as through Tommy Shirley or Tony Walker. Hey guys, I just took a listen to the new track off of the new album. Sounds great! I'm loving that gritty sound Greg. Very reminiscent of the first two albums. I've been playing alot of your stuff lately on the guitar, and friends of mine will come up to me asking where I developed my style, saying, "Is that ZZtop? No, wait...extremely bluesy yet also very reminiscent of Joe Perry, oh I give up, who is it?" So I'll pop in a Headhunters cd and their eyes will light up and their mouths will drop and they will say, "Teach me to play that, Please, you have to." It's great to hear you play man...with alot of the guitarists around here getting extremely fed up with todays new Rock sound ((all powerchords w/ no technicality)), alot of them are moving back to earlier rock and blues, which a large part is in thanks to you Greg. You keep the guitar REAL!!! And to the rest of you guys, keep up the great work as well. Life just wouldn't be the same w/out the HEADHUNTERS!!!

I love the music you've made over the last decade or so. The whole attitude of the Headhunters is very positive; it looks like you guys are having a great time when you're making music together. Great mix of music, Greg! I love the blues. Combined with the classic rock and occasional gospel number (not to mention the somtimes funny commercials and weather reports), it becomes even a richer experience. I started listening to you yesterday (6/7/99) at the office, where my boss told me it would be okay for me to listen to broadcast (webcast?) sites on the Internet through my new multimedia PC, so long as it didn't interfere with my work. It doesn't usually, except (as you might observe) at a time like this where I'm writing you. My department's server computers are down right now, though, so there's not much else for me to do. Keep up the great Internet broadcasts!

Greg, many thanks to you and everyone else involved in producing your radio show and webpage. It's a great place to check in and be refreshed.

Just found out about your "Virtual Broadcast" from the Broadcast.com website...I've only listened to about the first hour, and I DIG IT!!! Your show jams, and I will be an avid listener throughout the coming months. We can't get any "live" blues shows on any of the stations except for Sunday afternoons on the Public Radio Station, hosted by one Mick Martin (of Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers). I like the show put on by "Steamin'" Stan Ruffo out of Visalia, CA (way down south o' here) also posted by Broadcast.com, but I did the totally different flavor of your show. KEEP IT UP! And keep the harmonica tunes flowin', too. (I dabble a bit on the ol' harp, too...) =) ---Ron
